Anika noni rose is an American actor and singer. She is best known for her role as Tiana Disney's first African-American princess In The Princess and the Frog. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose starred as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Rose was born on September 6 on the 6th of September, 1973. Rose is an American actress and a singer. She is most famous for playing Tiana Disney's first African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011 she was honored as an official Disney Legend. Her name was also honoured for her role as a character in Dreamgirls (2006), which earned an Academy Award for Best Picture. In the Starz show Power she played the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. The actress has also received recognition for her performances in the theatre, including her leading role on the stage in Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway in which her Tony Award was won for Best Actress in Musical.
